Almost all EU enlargement candidate countries will be participating in the €450 million EU programme for enterprises during the summer of 2002, well before they formally join the Union. Participating means benefiting from services supplied by the 51 Euro Info Centres (EICs) now open for business on their territory, and gaining access to EU funds, managed by the European Investment Fund, that help plug financing gaps for start-ups and small businesses.
