Press Release: EU implications of an independent Scotland to be examined by European and External Relations Committee

The implications of an independent Scotland continuing as a member of the European Union will be examined in an inquiry launched on 16 December 2013 by the Scottish Parliament’s European and External Relations Committee.

Following the publication of the white paper, ‘Scotland’s Future’ on 26 November 2013 and of the report, ‘Scotland in the European Union’, published the following day, the Committee’s inquiry aims to shine a light onto the issues relating to an independent Scotland’s membership of the EU.
