The second issue in 2004 of the Quarterly Report on the Euro Area discusses recent economic developments and short-term prospects in the euro area. It concludes that, after a hesitant start, the recovery is now proceeding on increasingly firm ground. The report also contains two analytical chapters, including a mid-year review of fiscal policy in the euro area and an analysis of business cycle convergence in the euro area.
