Press Release: European Commission gives new impetus to the European social dialogue

The European Commission adopted a Communication on 26 June 2002 on the social dialogue that strengthens its role in Europe's strategy of economic and social reforms. In this way, the European Commission proposes raising the profile of the results of the social dialogue and strengthening coherence between the national and European levels, the creation of a 'tripartite social summit for growth and employment' and joint work programmes between stakeholders.
