The European Commission adopted on 22 January 2003 a package of documents outlining EU policy towards small and medium-sized enterprises, which provides a snapshot of recent progress in small business policy across Europe and points to possible further policy actions. A key finding is that EU Member States and candidate countries need to focus on small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) more often in their rule and policy making: consultation of small businesses remains low in both policy and law-making. |
