The European Medicines Agency’s Committee for Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP), in November 2012, recommended a number of risk-minimisation measures for the fibrin sealants, Evicel and Quixil, to minimise the risk of gas embolism when these medicines are applied as spray during surgery.
