Press Release: European Works Councils strengthened to better inform and consult workers during restructuring

The European Commission welcomed the adoption at first reading by the European Parliament and the Council of its legislative proposal to improve the role of European Works Councils. In these times of crisis, European Works Councils have a particularly important role to play in better anticipating cases of restructuring and supporting the workers affected.
