Press Release: Faster, more accurate flood warnings through EU research

The European Commission on the 28 August 2014 published information about three EU-funded research projects that have developed unique forecasting and alert systems to warn communities of impending floods. Timely flood alerts and real-time monitoring of flood emergencies can save lives and prevent damage to property, infrastructure and the environment. The projects - Imprints, WeSenseIt and UrbanFlood - all received funding under the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7).
