The Nice European Council in December 2000 invited the Commission to present annually from the Stockholm Summit onwards a Scoreboard outlining the progress made in implementing the Social Policy Agenda. On 26.2.01 the European Commission adopted the first Scoreboard on implementation of the Social Policy Agenda. This Communication is part of the package the Commission is putting forward to the Stockholm Summit in late March 2001 and dovetails with the annual synthesis report 'Realising the European Union's potential: consolidating and extending the Lisbon Strategy' of 7.2.01 (see IP/01/170). The Scoreboard reports on the concrete steps already taken in those areas of employment and social affairs aimed at economic and social renewal. |
