A report published by the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) on 24 October 2003 recommends the need for measures to ensure the rebuilding of a number of endangered fish stocks, including a ban on cod fishing in the North Sea, Skagerrak, Eastern Channel, Irish Sea and West of Scotland, and a ban on fishing for whiting in the Irish Sea. |
