Press Release: Flexicurity debate steps up a gear

European Ministers will discuss for the first time the European Commission's proposals to agree a common approach to flexicurity – strategies to combine flexibility and security for workers and companies – at a major event in Lisbon on 13 September 2007. The conference, hosted by the Portuguese EU Presidency, will also bring together workers' and employers' representatives, NGOs and experts. Its conclusions will feed into the common principles on flexicurity due to be agreed by EU leaders in December.
