India and Germany want to support one another in their efforts for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. This declaration was made by the Indian Prime Minister, Manmoham Singh and German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder following talks in New Delhi. In a speech at the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Schröder advocated a system of 'effective multilateralism' which needed to improve the participation and opportunities of the poorest countries in the world |
