In the framework of the consultation process for the envisaged Communication on sport and the draft Sport Programme, European Commissioner Vassiliou convened a group of high-level independent experts with proven experience in the area of sport and EU integration in 2010, in order to obtain a report regarding strategic choices for the implementation of the new EU competence in the field of sport. The Group has met twice in Brussels and adopted a report in July 2010. The report will be integrated into the Commission's Impact Assessment for the Communication and the Programme. |
