Press Release: ‘HERCULE’- Community action programme to promote activities in the field of the protection of the Community’s financial interests

The Council unanimously adopted on 5 April 2004 by written procedure the Decision of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a Community action programme to promote activities in the field of the protection of the Community's financial interests ('HERCULE' programme). This Decision was adopted under co-decision procedure, at first reading after the Council the European Parliament and the Commission reached an agreement on the amendments adopted. The European Parliament and the Council agreed on a joint statement on legal bases for grants during the budgetary conciliation meeting of 24 November 2003.
