EURODAC, a system for the comparison of fingerprints of asylum applicants and certain groups of illegal immigrants, will became operational on 15 January 2003 in the Member States of the European Union (with the exception of Denmark, for the time being) and in the third countries bound by the EURODAC Regulation (Norway and Iceland). |
