The President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso on 19 October 2005 appointed the 15 members of the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies (EGE) under the EGE mandate for 2005-2009. 6 of the new members were reappointed from the previous mandate and 9 of the new members were appointed for the first time. The EGE was to hold its first meeting on 25 October 2005 and on this occasion elect its President and Vice-President for a new term of four years. |
