Press Release: Making it happen: launch of 2007 OPEN DAYS European Week of Regions and Cities

Danuta Hübner, Commissioner for Regional Policy, and Michel Delebarre, President of the EU Committee of the Regions, launch OPEN DAYS, the European Week of Regions and Cities, on 8 October 2007 in Brussels. The event runs from 8 to 11 October and involves a record 212 regions and cities from 33 countries. Organised by the EU Committee of the Regions and the European Commission, this fifth edition of OPEN DAYS brings together local, regional, national and EU politicians and decision-makers, policy experts and representatives of business, banking and civil society organisations. The seminars this year will focus on the new regional programmes for 2007-2013. The headline is: 'Making it happen: regions and cities deliver growth and jobs'.
