The Irish Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Michael McDowell, on 10 May 2004, opened an international two day conference on drugs, entitled 'EU Strategy on Drugs - The Way Forward'. The conference was one of the main events of the Irish Presidency and prepared the ground for the December European Council, which was expected to approve a new EU drug strategy from 2005 onwards. |
