Press Release: Meeting at Eurojust of Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecutions of the EU Member States

A meeting of the Consultative Forum of Prosecutors General and Directors of Public Prosecutions of the EU Member States took place at Eurojust on 16 December 2011. Challenges to investigating and prosecuting crimes affecting EU financial interests were the focus of the first session. In its second session, the Consultative Forum discussed judicial aspects of witness protection. The Consultative Forum also discussed the current proposal for a Directive on the right of access to a lawyer in criminal proceedings and was updated about negotiations on the draft Directive regarding the European Investigation Order in criminal matters.
