150 academics involved in the Jean Monnet network will meet in Brussels on 15 and 16 October 2001 to take part in the debate on the future of Europe in the run-up to the Laeken European Council. The academics, joined by Members of the European Parliament and Commission representatives, will discuss the constitutional architecture of the European Union, the distribution and monitoring of powers, the Charter of Fundamental Rights, governance and institutional models in an enlarged European Union. |
