Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of Teboil and Suomen Petrooli by Lukoil

The European Commission on 18 March 2005 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of two Finnish operators of petrol service stations OY Teboil Ab ('Teboil') and Suomen Petrooli Oy ('Suomen Petrooli') by the Russian oil company OAO Lukoil ('Lukoil'). After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the EEA or any substantial part of it and has therefore approved the concentration.
