Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves acquisition of Tele Pizza by CVC

The European Commission on 6 June 2006 cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of sole control of Tele Pizza, a Spanish company active in the fast food sector, by CVC, a company based on Jersey and specialised in managing investment funds. CVC was to acquire sole control by way of a public bid. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
