Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves joint venture between Sofinco and Banco Popolare in Italian consumer credit markets

The European Commission cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed merger of Italian companies Ducato and Agos into a new joint venture, to be controlled jointly by Sofinco of France and Banco Popolare of Italy. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
