Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves planned acquisition of Eneco Energia by Edison

The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed concentration whereby Edison SpA, an Italian company active in the electricity and gas sector in Italy would acquire sole control of Eneco Energia S.p.A., an Italian company active in the retail supply of electricity in Italy. The Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
