Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed acquisition of Banksys and Bank Card Company by Atos Origin

The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the Belgian companies Banksys N.V./S.A. and Bank Card Company (“BCC”) by the French company Atos Origin S.A. (“AO”). After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
