Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed acquisition of joint control over Taranto Container Terminal by Hutchison and Evergreen

The European Commission cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of joint control over Taranto Container Terminal S.p.A. (TCT) of Italy by Hutchison Whampoa Limited Group of Hong Kong and the Taiwan-based Evergreen Group. The Commission concluded that the operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or in any substantial part of it.
