The European Commission approved under the EU Merger Regulation the acquisition by Sony Corporation of Japan of the small- and medium-size TFT-LCD (thin-film-technology liquid crystal display) business (the Epson Business) of Seiko Epson Corporation, also of Japan. The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
