Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed acquisition of Van Gansewinkel by AVR

The European Commission has cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the Van Gansewinkel Group (“Van Gansewinkel”), the Dutch waste management service provider, by the AVR Group (“AVR”) of the Netherlands, also active in waste management. After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
