Press Release: Mergers: Commission approves proposed creation of joint venture between Umicore and Zinifex in zinc sector

The European Commission has approved under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed creation of Neptune, a joint venture between the Belgian company Umicore and Zinifex of Australia. The joint venture would be active in zinc smelting, refining and alloying. The Commission concluded that the operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
