Press Release: Mergers: Commission clears joint venture between Alstom UK and Balfour Beatty

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the proposed joint venture between Alstom UK Holdings Ltd and Balfour Beatty Group Limited of the UK, both active in the field of rail signalling. The proposed concentration would result in Alstom UK and Balfour Beatty combining their respective rail signalling project activities in the UK. The Commission concluded that the deal would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it.
