The European Commission cleared under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of joint control of the UK undertaking Global Aerospace Underwriting Managers Ltd (GAUM) by the US company Berkshire Hathaway and the German company Münchener Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft AG (Munich Re). The Commission concluded that the operation would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or in any substantial part of it
