The European Commission on 8 September 2005 approved under the EU Merger Regulation the proposed acquisition of the Dutch and Belgian parts of Versatel Telecom International N.V. (Versatel) by the Swedish-based telecommunications operator Tele2 A.B. (Tele2). The Commission concluded that the transaction would not significantly impede effective competition in the European Economic Area (EEA) or any substantial part of it. |
