The European Commission on 8 February 2005 cleared, under the EU Merger Regulation, Valeo's planned acquisition of the French electronic automobile components company Engel. There were overlaps in the two companies' speedometer manufacturing activities in Europe, but the Commission concluded that the operation would not result in a significant impediment to effective competition in Europe, or any substantial part of Europe, and decided to clear it. |
