Dick Roche, the Irish Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, on 30 June 2005, announced details of allocations totalling €9.2 million to the six borders counties (Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Louth). The additional funding was being made available under a two-year extension of the EU Programme for Peace and Reconciliation 2000-2004 (Peace II) in Northern Ireland and the Border Counties. The Peace II Programme had been extended to December 2006. |
