Press Release: Minister Smith confirms payment of over €800 million to almost 114,000 farmers in Single Farm Payment

The Irish Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Brendan Smith, on 14 October 2009, confirmed that advance payments of 70 per cent, worth over €800 million, would be issued on 19 October 2009, to almost 114,000 farmers under the Single Payment Scheme (SPS).
