Press Release: ‘More than ever, Europe needs the United States and the United States needs Europe’, says European Commission President Barroso

European Commission President, José Manuel Barroso and the European Commissioner for External Relations, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, on 9 February 2005 received the US Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice, to the European Commission in Brussels as part of her preparation for the visit of President Bush to the EU on 22 February 2005. The US Secretary of State was invited to join the External Relations Group of Commissioners to discuss how Europe can best work with the United States to tackle the global challenges currently faced.
