New plans by the EU which aim to create a robust EU-wide system of financial supervision, by developing a single rule book for regulation, will have wide ranging implications for the regulatory system in Ireland if adopted, according to a report published on 13 January 2010 by the Oireachtas Committee on European Scrutiny.
