The European Ombudsman, Jacob Söderman, welcomed the news from the European Parliament that it would end discriminatory treatment against several officials it had recruited. This is in line with a Court of First Instance ruling that candidates in the same recruitment competition should be considered to be in a similar situation. By applying different rules to them, an institution breaches the principle of equal treatment and non-discrimination. |
