Press Release: Ombudsman ensures Parliament respects rules on equal treatment

The European Ombudsman, Jacob Söderman, welcomed the news from the European Parliament that it would end discriminatory treatment against several officials it had recruited. This is in line with a Court of First Instance ruling that candidates in the same recruitment competition should be considered to be in a similar situation. By applying different rules to them, an institution breaches the principle of equal treatment and non-discrimination.
