Press Release: Pandemic influenza: Kyprianou announces drive to reinforce Eu’s preparedness

According to Markos Kyprianou, European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection, EU preparedness against an influenza pandemic had improved over the past six months, but Member States needed to step up their efforts to strengthen their pandemic preparedness. The European Commission was preparing a number of initiatives which aimed to help Member States co-ordinate their actions in this regard.
