The European Community Regulation on the non-commercial movement of pet animals, which aims to harmonise the rules covering the movement of pet animals within and into the Community, came into force on 3 July 2003 and will apply from 3 July 2004. The Regulation allows the UK to continue its Pet Travel Scheme, virtually unchanged, until at least 2008. |
