Press Release: Political commitment necessary to better prepare against influenza pandemics

Experts from the 52 countries of the WHO European Region gathered in Luxembourg, 2-3 March 2005, to discuss national preparedness plans for influenza pandemics. Although a lot has already been done to ensure efficient preparedness for influenza pandemics at the national level, strong political commitment is crucial to make these plans work, they said.
