Press Release: President Prodi to visit Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia from 16 to 19 September

Programme of European Commission President Romano Prodi's visit to Azerbaijan on 16 and 17 September 2004, Georgia on 17 and 18 September and Armenia on 18 and 19 September. Discussions in the three countries are to focus on the next steps in the European Neighbourhood Policy and more generally on bilateral relations. In connection with the European Neighbourhood Policy, President Prodi wants to urge his counterparts to push ahead with reforms and conflict settlement. The visits follow the Council's decision of 14 June 2004 to include the three Southern Caucasus countries in the European Neighbourhood Policy.
