Press Release: Public procurement: Commission provides assistance on implementation of new ‘e-procurement’ rules

The European Commission on 15 July 2005 published a document that explains and interprets the rules on electronic public procurement ('e-procurement') that were introduced as part of the new public procurement Directives (2004/18/EC and 2004/17/EC). The aim was to assist Member States in writing the rules into national law and contracting authorities in implementing them.
