Press Release: Second Annual Report by the European Commission on the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong

On 18.5.00, the Commission approved the Second Annual Report on the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).The Report assesses the state of EU - Hong Kong bilateral relations and considers the implementation of the Joint Declaration and the Basic Law in Hong Kong, since the hand-over of Hong Kong to China in July 1997. It also examines the interests of EU businesses in Hong Kong and possible areas for developing co-operation further
