On 22 November, EU Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas will launch the second Civil Protection Forum in Brussels. This two-day event brings together 600 participants working in the area of civil protection for an exchange of information and experience, and provides a platform for issues linked to natural and man-made disasters. The initiative is part of the Commission's contribution to strengthen EU co-operation on Civil Protection. Highlights of the programme include plenary sessions and workshops on new threats, and risks resulting from climate change. |
