Press Release: State aid: Commission approves aid to Centocor Inc. for the setting-up of a biopharmaceutical production plant in Ireland

The European Commission on 25 January 2006 authorised a direct grant of €48.25 million that the Irish Industrial Development Agency (IDA) was planning to provide to Centocor Inc. for the establishment of a biopharmaceutical production plant on a greenfield site at Ringaskiddy, County Cork, Ireland. The Commission considered that the aid would not give rise to undue distortion of competition within the Single Market.
