Press Release: State aid: Commission opens investigations into restructuring aid to Slovenian wood manufacturers

The European Commission on 17 May 2006 launched two in-depth investigations under EC Treaty state aid rules into aid to Javor Pivka and Novoles Straza, two Slovenian companies manufacturing semi-finished wood products and furniture. The Commission was seeking to verify that the aid was in compliance with the rules governing state aid for the restructuring of firms in difficulty.
