Press Release: Statement by High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini on the report by Jean-Paul Jacqué on the EULEX Kosovo mandate implementation in case of recent allegations

High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini stated on 14 April 2015 she had received the review commissioned to Jean Paul Jacqué on EULEX Kosovo's mandate implementation, with a focus on the handling of corruption allegations previously raised.

The European Ombdusman had also opened another enquiry on these allegations.

In August 2015 Transparency International stated that 'In light of the developments pertaining to Maria Bamieh, former prosecutor and whistleblower for alleged mismanagements in the EU Rule of Law Mission- EULEX, Transparency International Kosova requests that EULEX publishes the procedures for reporting fraud and protection of whistleblowers. This is so that cases of corruption or misuse of power within this Institution, or other Institutions where EULEX operates, are made public in order to combat and prevent such abuses'.
