On 23 May 2001 the European Commission adopted a Communication on the implementation of strand C of the INTERREG III Community Initiative. The INTERREG III initiative aims to promote co-operation among regions and across borders. Its strand C specifically aims to strengthen co-operation among European regions and to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies and instruments through large-scale information exchange and sharing of experience. The Communication provides detailed guidelines in order to help the Member States and regions to prepare proposals for European support for actions in the field of interregional co-operation during the period 2000-2006. |
