The European Commission welcomed the World Bank Group’s Africa Catalytic Growth Fund, announced on 22 February 2006. Both institutions were determined to support and accelerate shared economic growth and to assist in the achievement of Millennium Development Goals that were proving difficult to attain in Africa.
